The Chief of Wurumomso in the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region has appealed to mining companies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and philanthropists to support the completion of a community police station being constructed through self-help efforts.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News, Nana Asirifi Gyimah Dadeako said the community has exhausted its financial and material resources, leaving the project stalled at the lintel stage.
He explained that the police station was initiated to improve security in the area but cannot be completed without external support.
The chief therefore appealed to corporate organisations, mining companies and well-meaning individuals to assist in completing the project so the facility can become operational.
According to Nana Asirifi Gyimah Dadeako, Wurumomso has experienced rapid population growth due to increased mining and farming activities, making the establishment of a well-equipped police station necessary to strengthen law enforcement.
He noted that completing the project would help improve security, protect lives and property, and meet the growing needs of the community.
