The Sunyani District Minister for the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Reverend Eric Ntow, has appealed to women to deepen efforts to help fight against drug abuse among the youth in the country.
He appealed in Goaso in the Ahafo Region when the women’s fellowship of the church in the Bono and Ahafo Regions celebrated their 57th Anniversary under the theme ” Woman A Dependable Builder “
In an interview with Adom News, Rev. Eric Kwasi Ntow explained that the high rate at which the youth are engaged in drug abuse is alarming and poses a serious threat to the country; therefore, women must put in more efforts to help curb it.
According to him, the fighting of drug abuse and other social vices is a collective responsibility, and to him, women play a key role.

In addition, the Presbytery Secretary of Bono and Ahafo Women’s Fellowship, Lydia Ama Nkrumah, said most youth become drug addicts when they are in either the second cycle or tertiary level; therefore, women must note it and work towards it.
On the other hand, the Vice President of B/A Women’s Fellowship, Esther Amankrah, told women in the country to do their best to help address the alarming rate of indiscipline among the youth, which is also dangerous to the country’s development.
She noted that in the B/A Presbytery, there are 31 districts with 1,500 women forming the fellowship; therefore, if they really intensify efforts, they can address many social vices.
