Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has set another historic milestone, becoming the first African artist to surpass 11 billion total streams on Spotify across all credited appearances.

The achievement, confirmed by music analytics platform Charts Africa on X, cements Wizkid’s position as one of Africa’s most commercially successful global music exports and a consistent leader in digital streaming records.

According to Charts Africa, Wizkid is the first African artist to reach multiple major streaming benchmarks on Spotify, including 1 billion, 2 billion, 10 billion, and now 11 billion cumulative streams.

The latest record comes shortly after the release of his new collaboration titled State of Mind with DJ Tunez, which dropped on May 15, 2026. The track reportedly amassed over 685,000 global Spotify streams within its first 24 hours, adding fresh momentum to his catalogue.

The milestone further highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats, a genre that continues to push Nigerian and African artistes into the centre of the international music streaming economy.
