Nigerian evangelist and actress Eucharia Anunobi has stirred conversation on social media after questioning why some married couples choose to deny themselves an important part of marriage; intimacy.
Speaking in a recent video, she expressed concern that some partners who were once affectionate during courtship become distant after marriage.
“Yes, I’m talking to you, married man. I’m talking to you, married woman. I mean, explain to me why you will be denying yourselves lovemaking, denying yourselves sex. The weapon that God gave to you. Do you want to take it back to heaven? When you were pursuing each other in courtship, it was up always on your minds to do the do.”
She argued that intimacy remains a key aspect of marital life and should not be treat as a weapon of conflict or distance.
She further suggested that some strained marital relationships may stem from misunderstandings around intimacy, urging couples to address such issues openly rather than withdraw from each other.
“You sleep in different rooms when you quarrel and then you say, I am not going to have sex. Are you living as strangers married partners? You’re bewitched. That is all I can say. You are bewitched,” Eucharia emphasized.
Her remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with her perspective on marital closeness, while others criticized her choice of language and delivery.
