The Wenchi Traditional Council has indefinitely suspended Nana Akora Tua Adutwum Kyeremeh Siasaa Kufour IV, the Twafohene of the Council.
Paramount Chief of the Wenchi Traditional Area and President of the Council, Osagyefo Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III, announced the suspension during a council meeting at Wenchi.
He said the Twafo stool had also been overturned, to pave the way for investigations into alleged breaches of traditional authority by the embattled sub-chief.
According to Osagyefo Tabrako III, the allegations against Nana Kufour IV relate to land matters.
He directed the public and the media to refrain from dealing with Nana Kufour IV in his capacity as a sub-chief of the Wenchi Traditional Council, and ordered him to stop presenting himself as a sub-chief or using the traditional title, pending the outcome of the investigations.
He warned that failure to comply with the directive could attract further sanctions from the Traditional Council.
