The Ghana Police Service has arrested four people suspected to be part of a gang that robbed the private residence of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in Walewale in the North East region of Ghana.
The burglars also attacked five other houses over the weekend during the operation.
Narrating the incident in an interview with Joy News, one of the victims, identified as Kombat Joe, said the burglar made away with his personal belonging while he was on a trip.
“I travelled on the 26th and when I came back, they had picked my mattresses and Emulsion paint I bought for the house and attacked five other houses including the Vice President’s house,” he said.
He expressed worry about the rampant robbery cases in Walewale and its environs.
