Veteran musician, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has revealed that he wanted to be a prophet before veering into music.

He made the revelation on Joy FM’s ‘Drive Time’ show, “Behind the Fame” with Lexis Bill and Joycelyn Dumas.

According to the musician, at the age of eight, he had the hunch that he was born to do music but he was initially pushed into doing some pastoral works.

Mr Ambolley said he nearly became a priest but felt it wasn’t his calling.

“I am the only musician in my family. They gave it all to me. By the age of 8 I knew I was gonna do music but I thought I was gonna be a priest too. Some of my colleagues are even priests but I felt music more.

Asked if he regrets foregoing the pastoral quest, he responded in the negative, saying “I felt music more; I think I made the right choice”.

The veteran music writer and composer who has been in the industry for more than forty years, revealed he would release his 31st album soon.
