Eno Serwaah, a Ghanaian lady, has opened up on her lifestyle as a lesbian.
According to her, her decision to keep up with lesbianism despite the backlash from society was informed by the commitment and dedication it comes with.
“My friend raised issues of unwanted pregnancies which may lead to abortions if I choose to have a boyfriend which I found convincing and saw nothing wrong with being a lesbian,” she justified.

According to her, she adopted the lifestyle at the age of 14 after her friend, who had arrived from South Africa, ‘enlightened’ her on how safe it was to be a lesbian.
Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem show, madam Serwaah said the conversation with her friend was an eye opener which made her realise that the advantages of engaging in the act outweighed the disadvantages.
“The partners are committed and dedicated with no issues of heartbreak or cheating and even if they cheat on you, they tell you about it compared to boys of today. You feel loved, secured and hygienic because you want to be clean at all times for your partner,” she said.

A repentant lesbian, who started at age 15, identified as Bernice, speaking on the same show, described the act as something no girl should be proud of. She urged lesbians to stop.
Eric Howusu Kumi, a Clinical Psychologist at Trust Hospital, speaking on the rise of lesbianism in Ghana, said the act is no longer considered as a psychological disorder since people are no longer ashamed of it.

“It has become a normal behaviour though it is considered abnormal in society,” he bemoaned.
