Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has commemorated Founder’s Day by honouring the legacy of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang described Dr Nkrumah as an “extraordinary” figure who played a significant role in Ghana’s independence struggle and Africa’s liberation.
She urged Ghanaians to draw inspiration from his courage, belief in the African people and conviction that Africans must take charge of their own destiny.
“On Founder’s Day, we honour the extraordinary life of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, a towering figure in Ghana’s struggle for independence and Africa’s liberation.”
The Vice President said Nkrumah’s legacy should continue to inspire collective efforts towards building a Ghana that reflects his vision.
“Let us draw renewed inspiration from his courage, belief in the African people, and unwavering conviction that we must ultimately shape our destiny.”
“May his legacy continue to inspire us as we work together to build a Ghana worthy of his vision” she added.
