Black Maidens head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa has expressed confidence ahead of Ghana’s crucial FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup encounter against Senegal, confirming that his side is in good health.
Ghana earned a valuable draw in the first leg away to Senegal, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of today’s encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Adarkwa revealed that Ghana’s primary objective was to defeat Senegal in the first leg; however, he acknowledged that the Senegalese posed a stern challenge, forcing the Black Maidens to adjust their expectations during the game.
“Our target was to beat Senegal in the first leg, but the game proved difficult, so we settled for a draw,” he said.
Despite not securing victory, the Ghana coach believes the result leaves the Black Maidens in a strong position ahead of the return leg, where qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup remains within reach.
He further revealed that every player in camp is fit and available for selection, providing a timely boost as the Black Maidens intensify preparations for Saturday’s showdown.
“No injuries in camp. We are ready to face Senegal this Saturday,” he added.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:30 GMT.
The winner of the tie will book a place in the U-17 Women’s World Cup.
