The Diaso Magistrate Court has remanded two persons into lawful custody in connection with the alleged assault of an 18-year-old Pragia rider at Diaso in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region.
The accused persons, Perpetual and Emmanuel Frimpong, pleaded not guilty to the charges, while the prime suspect, Enoch, popularly known as “Awoɔyɛ,” remains at large.
The two appeared before the court on Friday, July 17, 2026, where they each pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
Prosecutor Bernard Azagisanaba prayed the court to remand the accused persons to allow the police to continue investigations into the case. He also informed the court that the prime suspect, Enoch alias “Awoɔyɛ,” is being pursued by the police.
According to the prosecution, Emmanuel Frimpong allegedly assisted the fugitive suspect in carrying out the assault on the 18-year-old Pragia rider, Yaw Boakye, popularly known as “Killer Ntua.”
Police investigations also led to the recovery of quantities of tramadol, a pump-action gun, and nine live AA cartridges from Emmanuel Frimpong’s room. The items have been retained as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.
Presiding over the case, His Worship Devlin Isando denied bail to both accused persons and ordered that they be remanded into lawful custody pending further investigations.
The case has been adjourned to July 30, 2026, for further hearing.
Meanwhile, the prime suspect, Enoch alias “Awoɔyɛ,” remains on the run, with police efforts ongoing to apprehend him as investigations continue.
