Two persons have been arrested in connection with the viral assault of an 18-year-old Pragia rider at Diaso in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region.
The arrests were made by the Upper Denkyira West District Police Command following the circulation of a video showing some individuals assaulting the rider with machetes.
The disturbing footage, which went viral on social media, sparked public outrage and prompted police investigations into the incident.
According to the Police, two suspects have so far been taken into custody to assist with investigations, while the prime suspect remains at large.
The Police Command has assured the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect and bring all persons involved to justice.
The 18-year-old rider is said to have survived the attack, with further details on the circumstances leading to the assault expected to emerge as investigations continue.
