Three children who reportedly went missing on Saturday, October 3, 2026 have been found dead inside a parked vehicle at Koblimahagu Zuo in the Tamale Metropolis, leaving residents in shock and mourning.

The children, aged three, five and eight, were found on Monday morning. A search had been under way since they went missing, along with an appeal to the public for any information on where they were.

It is still not clear how the children died or how they went missing.

The Assembly Member for the area, Seidu Fuseini, confirmed the discovery. He said police have taken the owner of the vehicle into custody to help with their investigations, and that the owner told officers he had locked all the doors before leaving it.

In a social media post, Mohammed Juuna, a relative of one of the children, said they were found trapped in a stationary vehicle near his brother’s house in the community.

The bodies have been taken to the morgue of the Tamale Teaching Hospital for autopsy.

Police are conducting investigations into the matter.
