The walk, which began and ended at the Police Divisional Headquarters, is a reminder of the importance of harmony among citizens, irrespective of political affiliations.

The event also provided an opportunity for security personnel to engage in physical exercise while sending a strong message of peace to the community.

Attendees included the Regional Fire Commander, ACFO II Naomi Ofori-Adobea, along with heads of other security services in the region.

In a similar initiative, the Eastern Region also saw a peace walk organized by regional security services.

The Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, joined the Regional Commanders of Security Services for the walk.

The group gathered at the Police Regional Headquarters and marched through the principal streets of Koforidua, spreading the message of peace and unity ahead of the elections.

These walks highlight the collective commitment of Ghana’s security services to ensure a peaceful, safe, and secure environment during the upcoming elections.

This is to pay tribute to his late father on the 12th anniversary of his passing.
The event, dedicated to celebrating the legacy of former President Atta-Mills, saw hundreds of participants unite to honour a leader renowned for his advocacy of peace and unity.
Despite early morning rain, the turnout was remarkable, with many attendees braving the weather to partake in the walk.
The procession ended at the Atta Mills Presidential Library, situated across from the Cape Coast Castle.
There, Kofi Sam Atta Mills addressed the enthusiastic crowd, reflecting on his father’s lasting impact on promoting peace and bringing people together.
The walk was also attended by several prominent figures of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including:

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Jeff Konadu Addo, emphasized the importance of victory in the 2024 general elections to the party.

He urged all party members, including constituency executives, ward executives, and sympathizers, to intensify their efforts in door-to-door campaigns to garner support for the NPP.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Achiase, Kofi Ahenkorah-Marfo, former MP Robert Akwasi Amoah, and several parliamentary aspirants who did not secure nominations in the primaries, expressed their commitment to unite and work collaboratively for a victory in the upcoming elections.

Their pledge to support the party underscores a unified front aimed at retaining power in December 2024.

They are Ivor Greenstreet, Convention People’s Party; Percival Kofi Akpaloo, Liberal Party of Ghana; Hassan Ayariga, All People’s Congress; Jacob Osei Yeboah, Independent; Madam Akua Donkor, Ghana Freedom Party; Dr David Apasera, People’s National Convention; Dr Henry Herbert Lartey, Great Consolidated Popular Party; Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong, National Democratic Party; Bridgitte Dzubenuku, Progressive People Party and Anthony Gold Ahinful, Ghana Union Movement.

The walk is to signify on their parts that the 10 parties have accepted the outcome of both presidential and parliamentary elections.

Consequent to the declaration by the Electoral Commission, intense protests and demonstrations have erupted in some parts of the country of which some have turned violent.

By this, the undersigned party leaders are calling on the aggrieved NDC to hold their horses and accept the outcome of the polls.

“We appreciate the fact that there are persons who are aggrieved by the election results and we duly acknowledge their right to protest and demonstrate but we impress strongly on them to do so in such a manner that ensures peace, tranquility and the protection of lives and property,” it said.

The leaders also prescribed the court for the NDC since it remains the only remedy for electoral disputes.
