The lifeless body of the 42-year-old was found in his car in the early hours of Monday, April 25,2022.

The deceased has been identified as Kwabena Fosu.

A stench from the vehicle drew the attention of residents who later discovered the body at the back seat of the cab.

They said the taxi with registration number AS-1808-20 was parked in the neighbourhood since Friday, April 22.

Crime scene officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ashanti Regional Police Command carried out an assessment and conveyed the body to the morgue.

The three, whose identities are not immediately known, are said to include an elder man and woman, as well as a girl believed to be 10 years old.

The persons trapped, according to reports, are young men believed to be between the ages of 24 and 35 years.

The Upper Denkyira West National Disaster Management Organisation Director, Isaac Gyasi, confirmed the incident happened in an interview with Adom News‘ correspondent Kwame Nsowah Salvation.

Mr Gyasi said the incident occurred around 5:am on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

He explained they are suspecting not less than 40 people have been trapped in the pit, adding that they are in search of an excavator to help in the rescue.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Dunkwa-On-Offin Government Hospital morgue for preservation, identification and autopsy.

The deceased, believed to be in his 30’s, was found in the early hours of Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

Cause of death is not immediately known.

The car was found at a filling station in the area where he usually parks his car and sometimes spends the night.

An eyewitness who could not fathom the mysterious death revealed the deceased had interacted with some persons the previous night.

However, as someone who leaves for work very early in the morning, they drew closer to the car when they realised it had still been parked only to discover the lifeless body.

The Breman UGC Police Command has begun an investigation into the mysterious death with the body deposited at Ebenezer Mortuary at Tafo, awaiting autopsy.

A 14-year-old boy is currently in the grip of the Breman Asikuma District Police Command in the Central region for allegedly sodomising a five-year-old boy at Breman Brakwa.

Information gathered by Adom News suggested that the victim and the suspect were playmates, who lived at Mantemankabi, a suburb of Breman Brakwa.

The Breman Asikuma Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, confirming the incident to Adom News, said they could not speak much about the issue because investigations were still underway.

The grandfather of the victim, speaking in an interview with Adom News, explained that they discovered behavioral changes in the victim and upon further interrogation, the victim confessed to being allegedly sodomised by the victim.

The victim is currently at ‘Our Lady of Grace Hospital’ receiving treatment with the suspect in police custody at Breman Asikuma.
