Intercity STC Coaches Limited has interdicted a driver captured in a viral social media video allegedly showing the driver dangerously overtaking a Sprinter bus at Pokuase and driving away after the two vehicles made contact.
In a public notice, the company said it had commenced an immediate investigation into the incident, describing the driver’s conduct as unacceptable and contrary to its safety standards and professionalism.
“The driver involved has been identified and interdicted pending the outcome of the disciplinary process,” management stated.
The company added that it was awaiting an official report from the Pokuase Police Command to help establish the facts surrounding the incident.
STC said the conduct captured in the video did not reflect the standards it upholds in its operations.
Management reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and responsible road use, while thanking members of the public for drawing its attention to the incident.
It assured stakeholders that appropriate action would be taken following the investigation and disciplinary process.
