Businessman and philanthropist Nana Kwame Bediako has paid an emotional tribute to the late overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, describing him as a leader whose greatest legacy was the peace and unity he inspired.

In a heartfelt message following the announcement of the monarch’s passing, Nana Kwame Bediako said the late Yaa Naa was more than a traditional ruler to him, describing him as a father whose wisdom went beyond ethnic, regional and traditional boundaries.

“Some souls are born not merely to reign, but to reconcile. Yaa Naa was one of them,” he wrote.

He said the late Dagbon King’s most valuable contribution was not only his position as overlord of the kingdom, but the peace he helped restore and the unity he encouraged among his people.

Reflecting on his personal relationship with the late monarch, Nana Kwame Bediako said the moments they shared remain among his most treasured memories.

He urged Ghanaians, particularly the people of Dagbon, to uphold the values the late Yaa Naa stood for by promoting unity, humility and service to humanity.

Nana Kwame Bediako added that the late monarch’s legacy should serve as a reminder that peace remains one of the greatest strengths of any nation.
