As the world celebrated World Relaxation Day on Wednesday, a sociologist from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), George Oheneba Manu has encouraged couples to engage in more sex and romance as a way of relaxing the body and mind.

According to Dr Manu, having a good chat with your partner and getting involved with each other can make the human mind relax.

He added that having pets around you also helps with relaxation after a hard day’s work and so is good music and having personal fun.

Another sociologist, Dr Christopher Ampadu, says it is essential to take a break from work and other daily activities to relax.

He said the change of environment is an ideal formula for persons who may want to relax but noted that the lack of funds has made this a difficult option for a lot of people.

Psychologist, Dr Emmanuel Essampong, however, says people, who may want to change their environments but can’t afford to travel to serene places for same, can do so by changing the settings of their bedrooms and living rooms.

“Listening to music and paying attention to the lyrics of a song can send a message to a person which can also relax the mind of a person,” he added.

Walking around in the garden and enjoying the fragrance of the flowers is also a great method for relaxing the human mind,” he added.
