Seven persons have died in a head-on collision on the Tema-Kpong road. Ten other persons who were seriously injured in the Wednesday crash are receiving treatment at the Akuse Government Hospital.
The accident occurred when a DAF truck traveling from Tema to Kpong collided with a Toyota Hiace transporting passengers from the opposite direction of the same.
Three passengers died on the spot while four others died subsequently at the Akuse government hospital.
The Akuse District Police Commander ASP Francis Ackah told Starr News the accident occurred when the DAF truck attempted to overtake a vehicle upon reaching the Tei -Kwame community near Akuse-Junction but ended up crashing into the Toyota Hiace which was speeding from the opposite direction.
ASP Ackah advised drivers to be cautious by observing all road safety measures particularly as the rains have set in.
