The future of thousands of prospective recruits hoping to join Ghana’s security agencies remains uncertain as concerns grow over prolonged delays after they successfully completed their medical examinations.

The affected applicants, who are seeking recruitment into agencies under the Ministry of the Interior, including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service and Ghana Immigration Service, say they have been left without clear information on when they will proceed to the next stage of the process.

The recruitment exercise, which began with online registration through the C-SERP platform in November 2025, attracted thousands of applicants across the country. After the initial screening stages, shortlisted candidates proceeded to the medical examination phase, which officially commenced on April 7, 2026.

Following the medical assessments, many applicants received messages congratulating them for successfully passing the screening and were expecting to receive further communication on training dates and deployment arrangements.

However, months after the announcement of medical results, several successful candidates say they have received no updates from the authorities.

Some applicants who spoke on condition of anonymity expressed frustration over the uncertainty, explaining that they have suspended other plans, including education, employment opportunities and personal commitments, while waiting for confirmation of their recruitment.

Many are now appealing to the Ministry of the Interior and the leadership of the various security agencies to provide clarity on the delays and communicate the next steps in the recruitment process.

As of the time of publication, the Ministry of the Interior has not issued any official statement addressing the concerns of the prospective recruits.
