Four armed robbers have reportedly raided offices of the Electoral Commission (EC) and Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) at Effutu in the Central region.

Speaking on the robbery incident in an interview with Adom News, Nicholas Mantey, security guard for the EC at Effutu said the robbers, who stormed the office with guns, threatened to shoot him if he tried resisting their entrance.

After their entrance into the office, Mr Mantey said the robbers tied his hands and stole a laptop and television set as they could not lay hands on any money.

Reacting to the news, Effutu Municipal Director for the EC, Ama Akotia, expressed shock at the robbery incident.

Another security guard at the GWCL office in the same area, who only gave his name as Duodu, also reported of a robbery incident at the office.

It is, however, uncertain as to whether the two separate crimes were committed by the same perpetrators.
