An Okada rider has died, while his passenger is in critical condition after a cargo truck reportedly crashed into their motorcycle at Budumburam in the Gomoa East District.
The accident occurred on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway when the Okada rider and his passenger were travelling towards Kasoa, while the cargo truck, with registration number GN-4199-22, was heading in the opposite direction towards Cape Coast.
An eyewitness told Adom News that the cargo truck veered into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision that caused severe injuries to the rider’s head.
The rider reportedly died at the scene, while his passenger sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Residents who witnessed the accident reportedly intercepted the truck driver and handed him over to the police.
The driver has since been arrested to assist with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
