Three senior high schools in the Ahafo Region have received computers and other ICT equipment under the REDD+ initiative to enhance the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The beneficiary schools are Kukuom Agricultural Senior High School, Ahafoman Senior High School and Mim Senior High School.

Each school received 40 desktop computers, four laptops, a projector, a printer and Wi-Fi connectivity, bringing the total number of desktop computers to 120 and laptops to 12.

The initiative forms part of efforts under REDD+, which seeks to protect and restore forest reserves while supporting measures to address climate change.
Speaking to Adom News during the presentation, Chairman of REDD+ for the Asunafo-Asutifi districts, Daniel Amponsah Gyinayeh, said the donation was in recognition of the efforts of traditional authorities in the beneficiary communities to protect forest reserves.

He noted that chiefs in Kukuom, Goaso and Mim had played an important role in efforts to preserve and restore forests, making it necessary to support schools in those areas.
Mr Gyinayeh said the support was also aimed at addressing some of the challenges confronting ICT education in the schools and providing students with better access to technology.
The Headmaster of Ahafoman Senior High School, Derrick Adu Gyamfi, and his counterpart at Mim Senior High School, James Tweneboah Koduah, expressed gratitude to REDD+ for the donation.
They said the equipment would significantly improve ICT teaching and learning and provide students with the practical resources needed to develop their digital skills.
