President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku says he is disturbed about the recent performance of the Black Stars.

The senior male national team of Ghana has started their preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast next year.

As part of the preparations, the Black Stars played two friendly games earlier this month.

However, the four-time African champions conceded a total of six goals without scoring in any of the games.

Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat against Mexico before a 4-0 hammering against the US Men’s national team.

With the World Cup qualifiers coming up next month and the 34th edition of the AFCON scheduled for January, Kurt Okraku has openly admitted that he is disturbed about the performance of the national team.

“Our Black Stars must rise again but I’m a disturbed servant,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Ghana will take on Madagascar and Comoros in the World Cup qualifiers before flying to Ivory Coast for the AFCON tournament.

The Black Stars has been housed in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.

The AFCON will get underway from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
