Police investigators reportedly searched the residence of embattled General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as part of investigation to fish for evidence.

A member of Mr. Anyidoho’s legal team, Baba Jamal revealed this on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Thursday.
He said nothing substantial was found in the house but the police took his laptop and other valuables to aid in their investigations.
Koku Anyidoho was picked up by officials from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Tuesday at a press conference for comments he made on an Accra-based Happy FM.

He told the radio station that there is going to be a civilian coup d’état in Ghana. The police have since charged him with treason.
Many NDC officials have condemned his arrest in no uncertain terms noting that, it was an infringement upon his fundamental human rights.
In support, Baba Jamal said the police erred in arresting Koku Anyidoho at a press conference.

“We have no problem with the arrest but the police could have just invited him instead of creating this fear and panic. I think it was unnecessary,” he opined.
Conceding that the comment was offensive, the former Akwatia MP said the charge of treason is too high.
