Residents of Pokuase who commute to Circle and other parts of Accra for work have raised concerns over their safety at a dangerous roadside boarding point.
The residents say they are forced to climb over metal guardrail barriers to access commercial vehicles heading towards Circle and other parts of Accra.
Speaking to Adom News, the residents explained that vehicles heading towards Dome usually stop at the designated bus stop to pick up passengers.
However, drivers heading towards Circle often park and load passengers in front of the metal barriers, leaving commuters with no option but to climb over the barriers to board the vehicles.
According to the residents, the situation poses a serious safety risk, particularly during peak hours when traffic is heavy and vehicles are moving at high speeds.
They also complained about long waiting times, with some commuters saying they sometimes spend up to an hour by the roadside before getting a vehicle to their workplaces.
The residents are therefore appealing to the relevant authorities and transport operators to provide a safer and more convenient loading point for vehicles heading towards Circle and other parts of Accra.
They fear that without urgent intervention, the situation could lead to a serious accident and endanger the lives of commuters who depend on commercial transport daily.
