School children at Teselima RC primary school in Bole Bamboi district of the Northern Region study under harrowing condition as district education authorities refused to renovate a near collapse classroom structure.

The school, one of the oldest in the area has been left with deep cracks because it has not been renovated for decades.

Adom News visited the school and found only a handful of pupil sitting at the corners of the classrooms due to scorching sun.

Some students who spoke to Adom News’ Illiasu Abdul Rauf said snakes and other reptiles invaded the school during classes hours.

The situation, they added has created fear and panic and appealed to government to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.

Some parents are said have withdrawn their wards from the school to assist them at farms while others are also engage in hunting lizards.

A parent who is also the Chairperson of the Parent Teacher Association, Hafisah Sina also called for intervention because their children are now being taught under trees which she said was risky.

She revealed that several appeals to the district education service have fallen on deaf ears.

Describing the development as very dangerous, Hafisah Sina called on government to save the lives of the students.

Meanwhile the Assembly man of the area, David Gyema said the district Assembly has refused to address the matter after several appeals.
