At least five people are reported injured after a fuel tanker collided with a Benz bus at the Gomoa Adam junction near Apam in the Central Region.

The accident according to the police occurred on Thursday dawn when the driver of the fuel tank with the registration number GS-1322-12 skidded off the road into a bush after it collided head-on with the Benz bus landing on the driver’s side.

The Apam district Police Commander, ASP Cephas Edzeani who confirmed the incident to Adom News’ Alfred Amoh said five passengers in the bus suffered various degree of injuries.

“We received a distress call around 8 am Thursday that a fatal an accident has occurred at Apam junction and after investigations we revealed that the fuel tanker which was coming from Assin Fosu collided with the bus.

“Five people in the bus got injured in the process” he said.

ASP Cephas Edzeani said the injured are currently receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma hospital.
