A man has been arrested among Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s security detail at the Kotoka International Airport Sunday night for faking as a military officer.
The man, identified as 23-year old Sissey Ibrahim, is currently being held for interrogation at the Airport Police Station.
The officers who effected the arrest reported that on 11th March, 2018 at about 11:30am, the suspect who claims to be a student of University of Ghana, Legon, was spotted in the company of the security details of the Vice – President of the Republic of Ghana at the Airport.

According to him, the “demeanour and style of the suspect” made them highly suspicious of him for which reason they accosted him for a brief interrogation, leading to the discovery that he was a fake soldier.
The suspect told Police that the uniforms belonged to his elder brother, Sargent Zakari Ibrahim of 5BN Burma Camp, with whom he stays.

It has been confirmed that Sargent Zakari Ibrahim is presently on peacekeeping operations in Lebanon.
The suspect is in Police custody assisting investigations.
