National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer hopeful Alban Bagbin has officially filed his nomination forms at the party headquarters to signal his readiness to participate in the party’s upcoming flagbearership race.

Mr Bagbin was the last and one of the eight candidates to formally join the race as nominations closed on Saturday, December 8, 2018, but the first to submit his forms.

Addressing the media after submitting his forms, Mr Bagbin explained that he was excited to show leadership by being the first to submit his forms.

“As most of you refer to me as a leader, I will always be a leader and by submitting this form, I am formally offering myself to the party’s delegates around the country and asking them to vote for me to lead our great party.”

He further added that as a party member who understands the principles of the party, he will be a reflection of the party.

“Since I understand my roles and responsibilities, I will forcefully promote the ideas and values of the party and symbolise these ideas in everything I do”.

The politician added that for the party to win the 2020 election they have to win the 2019 primaries by voting him as the flag bearer of the party.

He however promised the party that when he is voted into power he will restore the image of the party and take the party to victory.

“I pledge to revitalize the party by bringing back the ideals that brought us back in the first place, I pledge to restore the power that was taken away from us by the rank and file by empowering the branch and constituency member to enable us win the 2020 elections and remain in power for a minimum of 16 years”, he stated.

Meanwhile, Victor Gbeho also submitted a flagbearer nominations forms on behalf of aspirant Joshua Alabi and asked party members to open all doors to Joshua Alabi.

General Secretary for the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia who officially received the forms from the candidates on behalf of the party stated the filing of nominations will be opened for 3 days.
