The Assin Fosu Divisional Police command is pleading with philanthropists and government to come to their aid as officers rely on commercial vehicle also known as ‘Trotro’ and Taxis for official duties.
The police commander, Chief Supt. Henry B.M Bacho has attributed a recent increase in a number of criminal cases in the Municipality to vehicular breakdowns and lack of police personnel.

The increasing rate of armed robbery attacks and other criminal cases in the Assin Fosu Municipality have sparked the anger of residents in recent times.
A situation for which the MP for Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, has advised his constituents to adopt “instance Justice” if the police cannot protect them.
Reacting to the security concerns and hard criticism of the people, Chief Supt. Henry B.M Bacho told Adom News the police is under-resourced.

“We are understaffed and have no vehicle for patrols since the two vehicles meant for such duties developed fault last year”, he explained.
He expressed worry about how the Fosu district command relies on taxi and trotro for official duties due to lack of resources.

On his part, the Assin Fosu District police commander, Chief Supt. Leonard Abekah said the few officers in the district were poised to work but lack of resources was making it very difficult to protect lives and properties as they are mandated to do.
The Divisional police command pleaded with philanthropists for urgent support.
