Mavis Amanor,  hostess of Asempa FM’s Ladies Time and producer has been honoured at the maiden edition of the Sports Women Achievers Awards over the weekend.

The awards ceremony was put together by the Women In Sports Association (WISA), an NGO committed to the development and promoting sporting activities involving women and girls.

And Fire Lady was a proud recipient of an award for her dedication and selfless service to the sports industry.

The dynamic sports journalist was ”happy to receive the award and promised to continue her great works”.

The ceremony attracted notable personalities from the women sporting fraternity and saw winners including those who have disguised themselves on the field of play, sports administration, academia and media, taking home plaques and decoders from Kwese TV as prizes.

For sports administration, GFA Executive Committee member, Leanier Afiyo Addy, women’s Habiba Attah, Gifty Annan-Myers (Rugby), Dr Deborah Cubagee (Women’s Sports), Fredericka Mensah-Davies (National Sports Authority) and Christie Dodoo (National Sports Authority) were celebrated for their diverse contributions.

Winners for the various sporting disciplines were former Black Queens captain Adjoa Bayor (Football), Albert Ampomah (Weightlifting), Yarkor Chavez Annan (Boxing), Naa Amerley Turkson (Boxing), Ethel Jacks (Table Tennis), Elizabeth King (Hockey) and Mona Captan Myers-Lamptey (Golf)
