NDC’s Koku Anyidoho who slammed Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia some months ago for doing politics on Easter Monday says there is absolutely nothing wrong for the founder of the ‘Umbrella’ party, John Jerry Rawlings to do politics on Sunday.

The deputy Chief Scribe of the opposition NDC was reported to have said that – “Dr Bawumia has disturbed Christians in solemnly observing the day after Jesus Christ’s resurrection as such.”

The Vice President was then addressing a town hall meeting to mark 100 days of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government.

However, on June 4, when Christians worldwide were observing the Pentecostal Day – the fiftieth day after Easter commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks, as described in the Acts of the Apostles.

The former military leader marked his annual June 4 celebration with some ‘boom’ speeches making headlines.

Asked by the host of NEAT FM’s morning show, Kwesi Aboagye that if the former president did not go contrary to the Christian creed by doing politics on Sunday – Koku Anyidoho says it “okay” for his party’s founder to do so.

“Pentecost Sunday is very critical on the calendar for Christians but it is not a statutory Christian holiday. There is nothing wrong for the former president to do politics on Sunday,” he said on NEAT FM’s morning show Ghana Montie.
