The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to brief him on preparations towards the upcoming National Youth Conference.
The visit, which took place on Friday, August 7, forms part of the Authority’s stakeholder engagement efforts to secure support and participation from key national figures ahead of the conference.
The event is expected to bring together young people, policymakers, development partners, faith-based organisations and other stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting Ghana’s youth and explore solutions to promote youth development.
During the meeting, Mr Ayariga highlighted the objectives of the conference and stressed the importance of involving religious leaders in discussions on youth empowerment, national unity and responsible citizenship.
The National Chief Imam welcomed the initiative and commended the NYA for engaging traditional and religious leaders as part of the preparations.
He encouraged the Authority to continue implementing programmes that promote discipline, patriotism and create opportunities for young people across the country.
