The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Disciplinary Committee has upheld a petition against Elvis Banoemuleng Botah for misconduct, suspending him indefinitely with immediate effect.

Until his suspension on Sunday, September 9, 2018, Mr Botah was the Constituency Chairman of Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency.

“Your suspension follows the outcome of the Disciplinary proceedings, following a petition brought against you by two concerned members of the party in accordance with Articles 4 (3) (7) (a) (d) and 4 (5) (1) of the Party’s Constitution.

“The outcome of the Disciplinary proceedings against you is grounded on gross constitutional breaches, gross misconduct, insubordination and disrespect to Elders, Patrons and Members oldie Constituency Disciplinary Committee, as provided for under Article 4 (7) (1)(a) (c),” the suspension letter to Mr Botah said in part.

LETTER OF INDEFINITE SUSPENSION FROM MEMBERSHIP OF THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY 

Your suspension follows the outcome of the Disciplinary proceedings, following a petition brought against you by two (2) concerned members of the party in accordance with Articles 4 (3) (7) (a) (d) and 4 (5) (1) of the Party’s Constitution.

The outcome of the Disciplinary proceedings against you is grounded on gross constitutional breaches, gross misconduct, insubordination and disrespect to Elders, Patrons and Members oldie Constituency Disciplinary Committee, as provided for under Article 4 (7) (1)(a) (c).

Please be informed that your suspension is in accordance with Article 3 (7) (2) of the Constitution of the party. And for the avoidance of doubt, Article 3 (7) (2) provides that “any decision to suspend a Member shall not be taken unless the nature of the complaint has been communicated to the member in writing, and disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against such Member.”
