The incumbent General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has filed his nomination to contest the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
Mr Kodua was accompanied by several Members of Parliament, regional and constituency executives, as he formally submitted his nomination and reaffirmed his bid to retain the position for another term.
Speaking after the filing, Mr Kodua expressed confidence in his chances of securing another four-year mandate, saying the support he has received from the party’s grassroots has strengthened his belief in victory.
He also assured the NPP National Elections Committee that his campaign would focus on issues and the future of the party rather than insults or personal attacks as he tours the country.
Mr Kodua said he would seek to engage party members respectfully and present his vision for strengthening the NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The Chairman of the NPP National Elections Committee, Frederick Opare Ansah, urged all aspirants to conduct decent campaigns and uphold the integrity of the party throughout the electoral process.
He encouraged candidates and their supporters to focus on issues and avoid conduct that could deepen divisions within the party.
