The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George, has cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modern four-unit classroom block for Ahwiam D/A Basic School.

The project, when completed, is expected to ease congestion in the school and also provide siren environment for learning.

The project is expected to be completed within six months.

The MP, as part of his birthday celebration, also donated 300 desks and 50 tables to the Ningo-Prampram Education Directorate

Speaking to Adom News at the occasion, the MP noted that the construction of the school block is in fulfillment of his promise to the people during his campaign tour ahead of the 2016 general election.

The lawmaker said construction of the four-unit classroom will help to motivate the pupils to stay in the classroom to learn for a better future.

“As I speak with you now, a total of 117 tertiary and second cycle students have benefited from my educational investment in the constituency,” he noted.

He also assured the District Education Directorate of his support to improve education in the area by changing all desks for the schools in the district.

He also urged the education directorate to ensure fair distribution of the resources to the schools in the area to improve quality education standards in the area.

On her part, the Ningo-Prampram District Director of Education, Beatrice Olenu commended the legislature for his kind gesture for the items donated and construction of the school building.

She assured that the resources would be put to good use to improve education in the district and beyond.
