National First Vice Chairperson hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has announced plans to complete and hand over a 30-bed children’s ward project at the Tafo Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region.
The facility, which is currently about 85% complete, is expected to improve healthcare delivery and ease pressure on the hospital’s existing children’s ward, which has been described as inadequate and deteriorating.
According to Nana B, the project is the fulfilment of a personal commitment he made five years ago ahead of his 40th birthday, as part of a pledge to God to support the construction of a modern children’s healthcare facility.
He explained that the Tafo Government Hospital was selected for the project because of the poor condition of its existing children’s ward and the urgent need to improve healthcare infrastructure for children in the region.
“That commitment found its purpose at the Tafo Government Hospital because of the deplorable condition of its existing Children’s Ward, which had become a major concern for the Ghana Health Service and the people of the region,” he said.
Nana B expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project, describing its near completion as one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life.
“I express immense gratitude and pride each time I visit the site and see the project nearing completion. As of my visit today, the project is 85% complete. Watching this vision steadily become a reality has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling journeys of my life,” he stated.
As part of activities marking his 45th birthday, the NPP executive said he has committed to completing and commissioning the facility by the end of the year as a gift to children and families who will benefit from improved healthcare services.
He emphasised that the initiative was driven by a desire to serve and make a lasting impact rather than personal recognition.
“This journey has never been about me. It has always been about giving hope, preserving lives, and leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service,” Nana B said.
He expressed appreciation to individuals and organisations that have supported the project and expressed confidence that the facility would soon be completed and commissioned.
“I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this vision, and I remain confident that, by God’s grace, we will soon celebrate,” he added.
