Police in the Central region is said to have prevented members of the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC) from holding its annual Peace festival.
According to reports, over 1000 church members who converged at the church’s headquarters at Gomoa Mozano are stranded.
The Church founded in 1922 by first Prophet Jemisimiham Jehu-Appiah, a former Catechist at the Methodist Church who instituted the Peace festival
The festival is organized annually at MDCC’s headquarters (Mozano), to bring all church members far and near to worship and also to win souls for Christ.
But this year’s event has been marred by violence following the long standing dispute between the leadership of the church after the death of its leader.
Nana Kofi Arhin of local radio station, Obromakoma FM who was at the scene said police personnel have taken over the venue and has ordered the leadership of the church to park out of the place.
He revealed that, the other faction who see themselves as the true members petitioned the police to stop the event from happening.
However, the current leadership expressed shock at the conduct of the police since they gave them the green light to organize the event.
He noted that, members of the Church were shocked to see armed policemen patrolling the town because nothing had happened in the town since the beginning of the festival.
The man of God said they will go ahead with the Peace Festival with or without the protection of the police.
A youth leader in the church who only gave his name as Daniel said he is mobilizing his people to faceoff with the police.
“The police cannot prevent us from worshiping God. There is freedom of worship and that is what we will do”.
Daniel called on the IGP to as a matter of urgency call his men to order or face their wrath.

    I assert the attempted celebration of a camouflage Peace Festival by the Musama Church International (M.C.I.) from 11th to 21st August 2017.
    Musama Church International is a breakaway from the Musama Disco Christo Church.
    The attempt of the M.C.I. to celebrate its unrecognised Peace Festival at Mozano, Headquarters of M.D.C.C., has been a matter of concern not only to the leadership of M.D.C.C., natives of Mozano and the people of Gomoa Eshiem but also to a number of agencies such as the Gomoa West District Assembly, Gomoa Opantsil Dabron Traditional Area, Gomoa West District Security Committee (DISEC) and the environ communities of Mozano.

    In fact, the entire content deserves much clarification for the interest of the general public. The police have in no way demonstrated a genuine consent regarding the abortion of the Musama Church International’s festival. It is rather worrying that; the police have acted “strangely” by rendering ever-incomprehensible favour for the Musama Church International.
    The people of Gomoa Eshiem, led by their Asafo company registed their displeasure concerning the existence of the M.C.I. on the land of Gomoa Eshiem. The Gomoa West District Chief Executive, DISEC, and the leadership of Musama Disco Christo Church legally and politely ensured stopping the Musama Church International’s festival, in a civilised manner.
    It is obvious the Musama Church International has been hunted by their conscience upon showing gross discourteousness to the authorities of the land and the courts of justice of the Republic of Ghana.
    I think Nana Kofi Arhin of local radio station, Obromakoma FM must objectively address the inconvenience of his inconsistent report on Peace Festival 2017, to redeem the credibility and reputation of adomonline.com.

  3. That so called peace festival was not organized by the leadership of MDCC but rather the break away members called MCI ( miss.a church international) As we all know, the annual Peace festival of the MDCC is being organized from 24th of August every year and NOT 11th. Please
