When it comes to doing music, getting a ‘hit’ song could be totally different from promoting your song to become a hit song.
Some songs naturally make waves while others would have to be promoted through the media to gain prominence.
Ghanaian dancehall act, J.Derobie shot to fame after he released his “Poverty” song and upon his selection by Nigerian singer, Mr Eazi to join his EmpawaAfrica initiative aimed at supporting emerging artistes across Africa.
He received massive airplay and shot a music video which has garnered about 1.6M views in not less than 6 months.
Detailing how much was invested in his career, Mr Eazi said, he invested $50,000 dollars in J.Derobie for his song to blow up.
The Nigerian singer has revealed that he inked an 80/20 split deal with the Ghanaian musician, where he has been able to win endorsement deals, set up his own recording studio and moving up the ladder of music.
He asked Ghanaians to look out for J.Derobie’s upcoming songs which he says he expects to top the music charts.
“We invested $50,000 in @jderobie on an 80/20 split in his favour! Man dropped a fire single, got himself a Popcaan Remix, a @betPawaGH endorsement deal, his own Label & is due to drop his 2nd single prod by @Killertunes_Tii all in the space of 6 months,” he tweeted.
