The coordinator for the one district one factory policy Gifty Ohene Konadu has mentioned some local banks that are willing to support the initiative.

In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii sen, the coordinator disclosed that, local banks like the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Agricultural Development Bank, Societe Generale, The Export and Import (EXIM) banks among others are some of the banks the secretariat has so far received funds from to support the one district one factory.

She added that the EXIM bank has made funds available for about 35 factories under this initiative and has in total received funds for the establishment of 54 factories.

The one district one factory policy is an initiative of the current government under the able leadership of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo seeks to address the problem of unemployment by undertaking a massive industrialisation campaign across the country.

They believe this will equip and empower communities to use their local resources in manufacturing products that are in high demand both locally and internationally to allow the country to reap the well-known rewards of industrialisation.

Such as gains in efficiency in every facet of life in our society, increase in agricultural and manufacturing output, a reduction in the reliance on imports and increase in the production of consumer goods and food availability.
