Alexander Afenyo-Markin, MP for Effutu Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, says former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are too desperate to win the 2020 election.

He said former President Mahama’s claim that the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is training thugs at Asutuare in combat techniques ahead of the 2020 general election shows how immature the NDC is.

“Mahama knows that the NPP will win 2020. NDC’s desperation is going too far. NDC has been in power for 16 good years and so it is proper that they act maturely and stop being petty. Mahama is still in pain that he lost 2020 elections,” he said.

Mr Mahama has alleged that the NPP is planning to wreak havoc and plunge the country into chaos during the 2020 elections.

“Since then, we have evidence that those people have been to Asutuare and trained in batches over and over again in all kinds of combat techniques and other things,” Mr Mahama said.

But, Mr Afenyo-Markin on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam said the NPP will get the second term in 2020 because it has fulfilled almost all its promises made to Ghanaians.
