Cecelia Abena Dapaah, Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources

The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has disclosed that her outfit had begun compiling a list of the cleanest and dirtiest areas in Ghana which will soon be released.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Tuesday, the Minister reiterated calls by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa and said she was optimistic that the dreams would be materialised.

“I had a smooth transition from the Aviation Ministry and have settled well here (Sanitation Ministry) and working hard to achieving a clean Ghana. Ghana is clean but can be cleaner so I’m compiling a list of cleanest and dirtiest areas in Ghana and the result will be out soon,” she disclosed.

The Minister lauded the Church of Pentecost for its Environmental Care nationwide campaign to complement the government’s efforts to improve sanitation.

“I commend the Church of Pentecost for taking up issues of sanitation and the environment and I encourage other churches to emulate that,” she urged.

The ‘Environmental Care Campaign’, is a year-long campaign, which is a collaboration between the Church of Pentecost and Zoomlion Ghana Limited, designed to create awareness on land pollution, water pollution, air pollution, sound pollution and the importance of cleaning the environment.
