Highlife legend Pat Thomas has clocked 80, and the “Golden Voice of Africa” is marking the milestone with a heartfelt message of gratitude to the people who have walked with him through a remarkable musical journey.
At an age when many would simply look back at the years gone by, Pat Thomas is choosing to celebrate the music and people who helped make the journey worthwhile.
The veteran musician described his fans and their love and unwavering support as the “wind beneath his wings”.
For decades, Pat Thomas has been one of the distinctive voices of Ghanaian highlife, carrying the genre across generations and introducing its rich melodies to audiences beyond Ghana.
Reflecting on the milestone, he expressed appreciation to his fellow musicians, producers, promoters, media practitioners and members of his team for helping make his journey memorable.
For Pat Thomas, highlife is more than a genre. It is heritage and pride that continues to connect generations.
He dedicated every note he has sung, as well as those still to come, to the fans who have kept listening.
With eight decades behind him and a musical legacy that continues to inspire, Pat Thomas has pledged to continue living through music.
