Appietus

Producer Appietus has finally broken his silence over musician Kesse’s claim that he gave him only GH¢ 20 when he was featured on the ‘Azonto Fiesta’ song with Sarkodie.

According to Appietus, the song belongs to him and not Sarkodie, hence Kesse should have proposed a contract to clarify his feature on the song.

He added that, initially, Kesse’s feature was to project him into the limelight as he was just up-and-coming.

Appietus, in an interview on U Say Wetin on Cruise Control on Hitz FM, said he would have settled the matter amicably with Kesse if he had opened up about it.

“The deal wasn’t to make him anything. It was to create platform for him to shine. I don’t know if he wanted some of the money.  He should have proposed a contract but not sit on radio. I didn’t point a gun at him. The song isn’t for Sarkodie,” Appietus said to Prince Tsegah.

Talking about sharing music royalties with Sarkodie and Kesse, Appietus said Sarkodie performed many times with the song and he never took a dime from him, hence Kesse only failed to take advantage of the song.

“I shot the video and put money in it. The money doesn’t come in a day, it comes later. I did promote the song and we weren’t even aware it was going to hit or a condom company was going to come for it. Sarkodie played many shows with the song and he didn’t give me a penny. He put it into his pocket. Kesse didn’t take advantage of it,” he said.
