New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women’s Organiser hopeful Hawa Koomson has urged party members to support her bid for the position, saying her experience in both government and opposition has shown her the difficulties of being out of power.
Addressing a women’s group ahead of the election, Mrs. Koomson said the party’s current status, in opposition, should motivate members to work towards regaining power.
“Look at how miserable we look in opposition. I have tasted both power and opposition, and I do not recommend opposition,” she said.
She questioned whether the party was comfortable with its current situation and urged the women to support her in the upcoming election.
“Is this what we want? I beg you, glorify me on October 3, and I will also glorify you,” she said.
Mrs Koomson is seeking to become the NPP’s next Women’s Organiser, with the election scheduled for October 3.
Her appeal centred on the party’s return to power, as she urged the women to give her their mandate, promising to reciprocate their support.
