Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko believes his side should have opened their Ghana Premier League title defence with victory after being held to a 1-1 draw by Vision FC in Tema.
The defending champions were forced to settle for a point at the Nii Adjei Kraku Park II Sports Complex on Saturday despite creating several opportunities to win the game.
Vision made the brighter start, with Zaidan Alhassan giving the hosts the lead in the eighth minute. Medeama responded shortly after the break as Kingsley Braye equalised in the 47th minute.
Tanko said his side’s inability to convert their chances proved costly.
“We created a lot of good chances, and if we had taken our chances, we would have won the game, but we go with the point and prepare for the next game,” he said after the match.
Medeama now face a demanding run of fixtures, travelling to Dreams FC on 23 September before hosting Basake Holy Stars and Port City FC on 27 and 30 September respectively, with all three matches coming within seven days.
