Ghanaian fashion influencer and celebrity stylist Richard Brown, popularly known as Osebo the Zaraman, has revealed that long before gaining fame for his fashion sense, he was known for preaching the word of God at school.
Speaking on The Career Trail programme on Joy Learning TV and Joy News, Osebo disclosed that during his days at Awuku Darko Senior Secondary School in Suhum, his headmaster gave him the nickname “Osofo” due to his constant preaching.
“Every Wednesday, when the school gathered, I would be the one invited to share the word of God. I was always with my Bible, and anytime I had free moments, I would read it,” he said.
Osebo explained that his devotion to Scripture stemmed from his upbringing.
“I grew up in a Christian home. My mother lived like a pastor’s wife, and my father was a pastor. So everything around me was church, church, church,” he recounted.
He noted that while many see him primarily as a fashion figure, he was deeply rooted in faith during his school days, often channeling his energy into sharing the gospel.
Even today, Osebo says his commitment to God remains strong. He added that those experiences of preaching before his peers helped instill discipline and confidence, qualities that continue to influence his personal and professional life.
