The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) newly elected First Vice Chairman, Kwadwo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, says the party’s next political chapter must be defined by what it can offer Ghana’s young people.
In his first message following his election, Mr Fosu Boadu linked the NPP’s return to power in 2028 to the need to create meaningful opportunities for the country’s youth.
He said his political ambitions were not rooted in a desire to distinguish himself from others but in his commitment to representing young people and advancing their aspirations.
“I do not see myself as better than anyone else. I see myself as a voice for the youth, a representative of their hopes, dreams and aspirations. My ambition goes beyond personal success; it is about creating opportunities and ensuring that the next generation has a fair chance to rise,” he wrote.
According to him, the NPP’s objective of returning to government should go beyond winning an election and be anchored in a broader vision for Ghana’s development.
He cautioned that failure to regain power in 2028 could have consequences for young people who are looking to the political system for opportunities to improve their lives.
“So many destinies risk remaining in the shadows if we fail to restore power in 2028. Our youth deserve opportunities, our people deserve hope, and our future deserves a renewed commitment to progress.”
Mr Fosu Boadu said the NPP’s political comeback must therefore be tied to a renewed commitment to creating an environment where young Ghanaians can pursue their ambitions and realise their potential.
His comments come after he was elected First Vice Chairman at the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, where delegates also elected a new team of national executives.
He will now serve as part of the NPP’s new national leadership as the party reorganises its structures and prepares for the next general election.
