Chief Executive Officer of embattled gold dealership firm, Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, says he is willing to pay his customers but expects the government to fulfill three pre-conditions to facilitate the payment.

NAM1, as he is popularly known, addressing a press briefing in Accra on Monday, said all companies have liabilities and assets but for him to pay his customers the government must fulfill its part of the bargain.

“The government must assist us to retrieve monies owed us by other foreign companies, unfreeze our companies and my personal bank account to allow me resolve liabilities immediately and clearly give directions on which regulator has jurisdiction and supervision over Menzgold’s business model,” he appealed.

About GH¢200 million of depositors’ cash is believed to be held up at the gold dealership firm following the company’s shut down in 2018 after the Securities and Exchange Commission ordered it to suspend its operation.
